The Concept of Taqiyya According to the commentators

Abstract

The term taqiyya was mentioned in many Quranic verses, hadiths and narrations. Opinions on this topic have varied and evidence has been diversified. In this study, we will try to clarify the aspects of the topic. This study begins with an introduction in which we clarify the definition of taqiyya in language and terminology, in addition to the Quranic verses in which the idea of taqiyya was mentioned. In the first section, we move on to discuss taqiyya in the books of interpretation and the opinions put forward by the interpreters through discussing the Quranic verses, in addition to discussing the most important controls of taqiyya as seen by scholars and interpreters. As for the second section, it revolves around the evidence presented by scholars and interpreters regarding the proof of taqiyya and its obligation, and the evidence presented by those who object to the idea of taqiyya. The study ends with a conclusion that includes the most important results, and a list of sources and references..
